The New Missiology
The enemy never gives up! He is constantly attacking
the Church of the Living God with some new wind of
doctrine. There is "Another Jesus" among us. This
Jesus is the Jesus of the Emergent Church; The
Purpose Driven Church/Life (and whatever else
needs purpose added to it) Contemplative Spirituality.
I must admit to you, that in the church I pastor, these
things by the grace of God, and consistent Bible
preaching and teaching, have not come in, but I speak
to people all the time who are troubled at what is being
allowed into the churches that they have been a part of, served in and supported with their
prayer, time, and dollars. I am always amazed at the gullibility of many modern day pastors
and leaders who are so easily sucked in to these whirlpools of doctrinal destruction. Can it
be that they are that easily fooled? Are they so dependent upon being considered a success
in the eyes of the world, with large numbers of people which obviously mean God is
blessing; (doesn't it?) Are they so willing to compromise the blood bought salvation in Christ
for some new doctrine which is just another doctrine of devils? Perhaps, the real truth is that
they themselves, are not truly saved! Why else would they be ready and willing to believe,
and perpetuate a lie?

I do admit that I am not an expert on these "old lies dressed in new clothes" but I do know
God's Word, and so I can easily recognize a counterfeit when I see one.
According to
Lighthouse Trails  ministry the emergent church or "new missiology" can be
defined in these three basic characteristics:

"The New Missiology—Keep Your Own Religion, Just Add Jesus"

The new missiology says three things:

    1. You can keep your own religion — Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Mormonism — you
just need to add Jesus to the equation. Then you become complete. You become a
Buddhist with Jesus, a Hindu with Jesus, a Muslim with Jesus and so on.

    2. You can throw out the term Christianity and still be a follower of Jesus.

    3. In fact, you can throw out the term Christian too. In some countries you could be
persecuted for calling yourself a Christian, and there is no need for that. Just ask Jesus
into your heart, you don't have to identify yourself as a Christian."

The only way to combat these old heresies is with the preaching of the Word of God without
compromise. If your church Pastor will not be faithful to preach as He is commanded to do
so, then find one who will! Do not despair! The Lord and His Church will triumph over all
darkness of the enemy, no matter how popular it may seem to be for the moment!
