Christian Leaders
Often I hear what certain "Christian leaders" have supposedly
said about this subject or that- most commonly it is concerning
some political stand that they want the rest of the non-leaders
who are also Christians to take. These leaders are quoted by
the news media,talk show commentators, politicians, and even
other "Christian Leaders." Now, I have no quarrel with any who
would step forward and speak out on some issue, and even
recommend that others follow their opinion, but, I want to know.....
Who made them a "Christian Leader"? Was there an election that
I was not made aware of? Did God in the counsels of Heaven come to a
decision about Christian Leadership, and then send an angel down to personally commission these
individuals as leaders? Most of the time those who are called leaders do not speak for anyone but
themselves, or their own ministries.
Many of these that are referred to as Christian leaders, are very weak concerning their knowledge of the
Bible, and their words can be listened to respectfully, but not swallowed whole hog. Now I do believe that
there are "Christian Leaders."
The Bible tells us in Hebrews chapter 13: verse 17 that we are to
"Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls,
as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is
unprofitable for you."
These leaders are Pastors. These are Godly men given the charge and watch care of your soul here
on this earth in a local church setting. These are the men you should listen to. Others who have large
ministries, small ministries, radio and t v programs may have something good to say, but not as your
leader-but as another believer in Christ. Our Lord has set up leaders within the confines of the local church
who are to instruct you in the will of the real "Christian Leader",
